About 70 employees produce 25.000 tons of sunflower seeds every year.
Spitz started with seeds for birds. In 1990 the snack sunflower seed for humans was created and was a great success right from the beginning.

Spitz is the largest sunflower seed producer in Canada and plans to expand its activities in the USA in the near future. David Seeds und Frito Lay Sunflower Seeds sell most of the snack sunflower seeds in the United States.

Why are Spitz called Spitz? At the beginning, the Spitz seeds were just called "sunflower seeds". The Canadian consumers called them Spitz in connection to "spitting" out the shell. The expression Spitz was so popular that the company decided to call the brand itself Spitz.

Every year Spitz comes up with new exiting flavors and blends. The Spitz fans always enjoy the new creations out of Alberta, Canada. The latest new flavors have been Smoky BBQ and Chili Lime. New creations give seeders regular new taste experiences and the perfect flavor for every seeder.

Besides sunflower seeds, Spitz also offers pumpkin seeds, peanuts and cashews.
